Rough Stones
Serbian Stone
About the stone
Our Serbian natural stone called ''Struganičkikamen'' is quarried in the village of Struganik. The rock falls under the sedimentary rock category and belongs to the group of limestones. What makes this stone so special is that it has a long lifespan and has a very high resistance to extreme weather conditions. The stone is heat resistant and provides an insulating effect when placed. This makes the stone very well suited for exterior walls. What is particularly special is the fact that no two pieces of this stone are the same. As a result, the stone also has a varying thickness that is between 1 and 3 centimeters.
Detailed information
These stones fall under the type of layered marl limestone. This type of natural stone belongs to the sedimentary rock. 92 to 97% of the rock is calcium carbonate and 3 to 8% is marl. With this composition, the stone has great strength against resistance from bending, pressure and wear. This allows the stone to survive extreme temperature fluctuations and weather conditions with ease and it will remain beautiful for years.
